Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that we have just passed our fourth anniversary. 2002 was a time of transition at Nothing to It! We have added two important team  members that you will be seeing often in 2003. Starting with our new culinary director Lara Ritchie. Lara has moved to Reno from Alanta, Georgia and is overseeing the cooking school and special events. You will see her teaching classes, managing the television segments and testing recipes for some of our new projects. We are really looking forward to learning from her and seeing what new directions she will take the cooking school.

Our second new addition to the team was Sous Chef Tina Louise. You will see that the café is taking on a great Napa Valley style with her help.

The class schedule for the first half of 2003 has a lot in store. In these classes, you will learn about the cuisines of some unique countries and find delicious recipes to add to your everyday cooking repertoire. We are very excited to have Chef Anne Willan join us this March. From her world famous cooking school, La Varenne, she will teach you some of the most important cooking techniques.

The popular hands-on Nothing to It! Techniques Series continues to be a great way to learn gourmet-cooking fundamentals that apply to your everyday cooking. By going beyond the recipes and learning the fundamental techniques and principles of cooking, you’ll learn to cook with a true understanding of what’s happening while you cook.

Many new classes are sprinkled throughout the Cuisine Series and the Grilling Series such as Steam Cuisine, Dinner for Eight, and Skewer It!. In May, John Ash will be joining us for three evenings of his exciting culinary creativity. Also, John is joining us on our culinary tour to Australia in March along with Joanne Weir.

We are very happy to include a class that will be based on the recipes that the brave firefighters of the Reno/Sparks area cook daily while they are on the job. This class, held on May 1 will have 6 firefighters competing to determine who has the best food in the firehouse. You will be the judge as you watch and taste the fantastic food from this cook-off. If you have a firefighter that should be considered, please let us know!! The proceeds of the class will go to the local firefighters fund.
